Why I decided to run
The people who know me, know that I stand up against injustice no matter how big or small it may be. I have a loud voice for all, and as a woman, I believe in equal representation and I believe that we need more of it in Edmonton city council; so I decided to lead by example. As a young immigrant woman, I can bring a different perspective to the table. I care about our future, our neighbourhoods and our city. Furthermore, I care about bigger global issues like climate change and our global water crisis. I am here to represent what being an Edmontonian stands for; quality of life, safe and well taken care of neighbourhood as well as the right to voice opinions and concerns in your area.
I want a world I can be proud to raise my children in, where there is no racism, injustice, and where people do not have to suffer from cold or hunger. I firmly believe change starts with ourselves. I try to do what I can to do my best at being environmentally friendly, while reducing my carbon footprint. I believe in inclusion no matter race, gender, sexuality, religion, or background. I live in this ward, I enjoy the parks, the walking paths, the bike trails, the dog park, the river valley as much as everyone, and I want to make sure that we maintain and strive to have a wonderful community that everyone can enjoy. My family and friends also live in this ward, so I am familiar with their struggles, and I want to know about yours.
